The Mühlheim rock cave is a very special cave

The karst landscape of the Swabian Alb is criss-crossed by caves. The Swabian Alb is considered the landscape with the most caves in Central Europe.

The Mühlheim Rock Cave is located at the beginning of the Danube breakthrough valley near Mühlheim in the Donaubergland. The cave was discovered directly above the Danube in the rock above the “old town” of Mühlheim.

The Mühlheim Rock Cave has been designated a special “Geopoint” of the UNESCO Swabian Alb Geopark

Outstanding scenic and geological sights in the Swabian Jura are awarded the “Geopoint” seal in the UNSECO Swabian Jura Geopark. The Mühlheim rock cave has been part of this for several years.

There is a whole series of caves in the Donaubergland

The Donaubergland is the south-western part of the Swabian Alb. Here you will find the highest mountains and the deepest valleys in the Alb. And a series of kart caves.

The best known is the Kolbing Cavethe largest show cave in the Swabian Jura and an impressive stalactite cave.
