The path sponsorship project
Six premium hiking trails currently exist in the Donaubergland, the Danube Wavesand one complete quality trail (the Donauberglandweg) and several stages of two other quality trails (the Donau-Zollernalb-Weg and the Albsteig / HW 1) through the heart of the Donaubergland.
Hiking trails that are excellent in the truest sense of the word and have a special significance as trail markers and “hiking lighthouses” in the Donaubergland.
Leading companies from the district of Tuttlingen (Donaubergland) cooperate with Donaubergland GmbH and the municipalities concerned along these hiking trails to ensure the quality and maintenance of these trails.
Exemplary cooperation
Our video shows an example of the trainees of our path sponsor Hammerwerk Fridingen GmbH during their annual commitment to path maintenance as well as employees of B. Braun Aesculap on an “after-work hike” in the Donaubergland.

The flagship project
The state of Baden-Württemberg supports model project
In 2023, the state of Baden-Württemberg provided funds from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (Tourism Department) supported the further development of this special project of trail sponsorships into a state-wide model project “Cooperation between tourism and business” for tourism in the state. The project was completed in September 2023.

What do our partner companies do as trail sponsors?
The commitment of our partnership consists of four elements
A trail sponsorship for one of our certified hiking trails, whether premium trail or quality trail, basically covers four areas:
- Sponsoring
The partners support us annually with an agreed sponsorship amount - Support for campaigns and events
The partners are also involved in marketing campaigns and special events relating to the trails, through additional advertising and/or participation in projects - Cooperation in the context of company health care (hiking and company health management)
We organize special after-work hikes for employees of partner companies. - Active support for trail management
Trainees from individual partners are involved in individual agreed projects (regular or project-oriented) for quality assurance and quality improvement of hiking trails, whether through maintenance measures or additional equipment for the trail infrastructure.
