Hammerwerk Fridingen GmbH

It is now almost 150 years since the first industrial company settled in a narrow, scenic side valley of the Danube, the Bäratal. It all began in 1860 with a wool spinning mill, followed by a chemical factory on the site in 1899, before a metal processing company, “Gebrüder Braun”, moved here for the first time in 1936.

Above all, the favorable location conditions, such as the natural hydropower of the Bära, a sufficient workforce in a structurally weak region and thus inexpensive building land were of interest. Last but not least, remoteness also played a major role, as the farms caused noise and stench.

After a further change of ownership in 1953, Hammerwerk Fridingen GmbH, which is still based at this location today, was established.

Over the past six decades, the company has developed into an innovative and competent partner for its customers at home and abroad. With more than 500 employees, it supplies the global markets of the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, the construction machinery industry and fittings and drive technology.

In the field of forming and machining technology, the company offers a wide range of drop forgings and hot-pressed parts, which are also fully machined to meet customer requirements.

With more than 60 years of activity at the Fridingen site, Hammerwerk is deeply rooted in the land and people of the region. The majority of employees come from the surrounding area. They are involved in the regional culture, associations and other institutions in a variety of ways. The company supports this commitment in a variety of ways.
